Mathew Waer’s philosophy of training extends past sweat and barbells; it is a complete mind and body experience. He believes your mind needs to be exercised just as much your body.
I have seen and experienced CrossFit as a positive aspect of life. No matter your experience level, I strive to bring a positive method to improve your overall functionality and meet your goals.
Mathew grew up in a small town outside of Eugene Oregon. After high school, he moved to Northern California to play college football for the College of the Siskiyous. After his stint playing college football, he moved to Portland to pursue a culinary arts career. To stay active, he coached cross-country running, and track & field.
After graduation from culinary school, Mathew began training in CrossFit, and joined the Adventure racing circuit. Adventure racing is a demanding competitive sport combining orienteering or navigation with cross-country running, mountain biking and paddling. Not for the feint of heart.
For the past year and a half, he has been building training programs for adventure racing, mixing his knowledge of nutrition and high-intensity functional movements. He is currently working toward his Level 1 Certification to become an official CrossFit trainer at InSync Center for Fitness and CrossFit Excellence.
